L’Oratorio di San Francesco dei Nobili è protetto dalla doppia cinta muraria che caratterizza la città umbra. L’Oratorio dei Disciplinati di San Francesco (mutatosi nell’800 in Pio Sodalizio Braccio Fortebracci) si staglia fra le testimonianze storico artistiche che ornano questo antico sito. Per mezzo di un raffinatissimo portale marmoreo, attraversando l’elegante vestibolo ornato mediante gli stucchi barocchi di Jean Regnaud, si accede alla Sala del Consiglio e quindi all’Oratorio: un raffinatissimo scrigno ‘cesellato’ che custodisce innumerevoli tesori. L’Archivio Braccio Fortebracci, ivi custodito, costituisce la raccolta storica di tre confraternite ed è una fonte di inestimabile valore che squarcia il muro del tempo e apre una breccia, in maniera particolare, sulle attività della Congregazione dei Disciplinati.

The Oratorio di San Francesco dei Nobili is protected by the double wall that distinguishes the Umbrian city of Perugia. The Oratory of the Disciplinati of San Francesco (which changed in the 19th century to Pio Sodalizio Braccio Fortebracci) stands out among the historical and artistic sites that adorn the city of Perugia. By means of a very refined marble portal, crossing the elegant vestibule decorated with Baroque stuccos by Jean Regnaud, one enters the Sala del Consiglio and then the Oratorio: a very refined ‘chiseled’ casket which holds innumerable treasures. The Braccio Fortebracci Archive, kept there, constitutes the historical collection of three brotherhoods and is a source of inestimable value that particularly opens a breach in time on the activities of the Congregation of the Disciplinati.
