Monte Tezio
Il monte Tezio è situato a nord di Perugia e con i suoi 961 metri di altezza permette di ammirare la Valle Umbra, la catena appenninica e il Lago Trasimeno. Il nome deriva probabilmente dalla dea Teti, la più bella delle Nereidi, ovvero le Ninfe discendenti da Oceano nella mitologia greca. Secondo i racconti, durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, sul monte Tezio si schiantarono in due momenti diversi, un aeroplano tedesco e uno americano. Il Monte Tezio è una meta popolare per gli amanti della natura e gli escursionisti. La zona è ricca di sentieri ben segnalati che offrono l’opportunità di immergersi nella bellezza naturale dell’Umbria.
Monte Tezio
Mount Tezio is 961 meters high and it is located north of Perugia. From its top it is possible to admire the Umbrian Valley, the Apennine chain, and Lake Trasimeno. The name probably derives from the goddess Teti, the most beautiful of the Nereids, known in Greek mythology as the Nymphs descended from Oceanus. It is said that during the Second World War, both a German and an American plane crashed on this mountain at two different times. Mount Tezio is a popular destination for nature lovers and hikers. The area is full of well-signposted footpaths which offer the opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Umbria.
